Giovanni Nicolas is an esteemed educator who has dedicated himself to the San Bernardino City Unified District since 2005. His journey began as a para-professional in a Mild-to-Moderate Special Day class, where his passion for teaching became apparent. Quickly advancing, he assumed the role of a teacher in a Mild-to-Moderate SDC setting in 2009, and since then, he has consistently made a profound impact on the lives of his students.

Throughout his illustrious career, Giovanni has garnered recognition for his exemplary work in the classroom. He earned the prestigious Outstanding Teacher Award in both 2012 and 2016, along with the esteemed Crystal Apple Award in 2017. Additionally, Giovanni served as a Teacher Induction Program Mentor, guiding and supporting new educators in honing their skills and navigating their teaching journeys.

In 2014, Giovanni embraced a new role as an RSP teacher, where he continued to thrive and excel in his commitment to education. From 2019 through the 2022 school year, he assumed the vital position of Program Facilitator, playing an integral role in fostering student success.

Giovanni's dedication to education is underscored by his academic accomplishments. He attained his Master's Degree in Special Education and Administrative Credential from California State University of San Bernardino, showcasing his unwavering commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

Presently, Giovanni serves as a member of the SEIS Task Force and holds the esteemed position of Program Specialist for the Central City Cluster Schools. His wealth of experience and expertise renders him an invaluable asset to the team, and he continues to make a profound and positive impact on the education of students within the San Bernardino City Unified District.
